Perhay acts only for our clients from the moment of registration - we do not sell or rent out properties, so there is no conflict of interest. As each client has different requirements, we need to obtain the fullest detail of their needs and aspirations, whether in relation to size, type or location. We prefer an initial personal meeting at the client's own home, with both parties present if acting for a couple. Having taken a detailed brief, we search for suitable properties and undertake an initial inspection. This process is crucial as it results in a relatively smaller and more focused choice. We report these results to our clients and pinpoint both the virtues and obvious concerns. Following these discussions we will arrange appointments and accompany our clients to view the selected properties. Throughout this time, we will try to discover any background information on both the property and the locality, such as the proximity of schools, railway stations, main roads, bridlepaths, footpaths etc. Surveys by independent, reputable professionals can be arranged and, quotations for building work can be obtained if so required. The choice of whom to employ will always be made by the client. We can (and usually do) continue to advise clients during any subsequent negotiations. If the meeting is far-afield, an extra cost may be involved to cover expenses
